Here’s Phoenix Wright-Ace Attorney Trailer
I got my Japanese movie share for the week. I watched Liar Game Reborn live action and Phoenix Wright-Ace Attorney live action. They are both really good in so many different ways.
Liar Game Reborn was pretty good. I didn’t get to finish the drama but I read a few volumes of the manga so I knew the basics of the story. I don’t want to spoil too much of the story so this movie revolves a young female college student who got drag into a new round of Liar Game and Akiyama has to help her(like always). The musical chair game was really clever. The story flows well with a lot of plot twist. I really like the actor who played Akiyama. He fits the character really well. The lead actress in this film was not the same one as in the drama but another character. Her acting was ok. This movie seems to be about 2 yrs after the end of season 2. There were many characters that overreact in their acting which makes it a bit corny. Definitely check out the scene after the end credit because there’s an explanation of Akiyama’s question to the main girl. You’ll know what I mean. Overall, Liar Game Reborn was entertaining and pretty fun. After watching the film, I wanted to watch the drama and continue reading the manga now.
Phoenix Wright-Ace Attorney live action was the movie I really wanted to watch last year. It was like what I expected. I got to play the game about two years ago and I was curious to see how the live action will be. The film was really well executed. It follows the main storyline of the first game with a lot of things cut out since it’s only a little over two hours long. I hadn’t realize that the actual Japanese version of the game had the character’s names in Japanese. No wonder why some characters’ names were ridiculous and strange in English. I’ve been thinking his name was Phoenix Wright the whole time even though it was actually Naruhodo Ryuichi(well Naruhodo does roughly means “right” or “oh i see”). However, since the movie I watch had the US name in the subtitle, I’ll review this film with the English name instead. I enjoy the trial a lot. We have rookie defense attorney, Pheonix Wright going all out against the famous prosecutor, Miles Edgeworh, and later a turn of event happen where he has to defend Miles and find the truth. All the cases in the first film relates to each other and it concludes with the twisted truth. I kept wanting to hear them say the infamous “objection ” lines but after a while I got absorbed into the story I didn’t care as much about that anymore. The director did a great job in having the actors and actresses portraying the characters to look just like they were in the game. Some actually pulls it off. Also kudos to cast and their acting. Hiroki Narimiya was a really good Phoenix Wright. Love the nervous look on his face and when he does the “objection” line. I also really like Takumi Saito as Miles Edgeworth. He was really cool in it. Mirei Kiritani playes Maya Fey did a great job too. I highly recommend this film for people who like the game or people who are interested in watching a film in a court setting that is outrageous and funny. Really hope they make a sequel.

So pretty.
Wagashi (和菓子) is a traditional Japanese confectionery which is often served with tea. Wagashi are considered more healthful because they are made entirely from plant-based ingredient. They are extremely suited to artistic manipulation, and to visual representation of a variety of symbolic elements. (x) (x)

I’ve been a fan of Divergent series by Veronica Roth. She reveals in the Today show the cover of the last book of her series called Allegiant. It’s gonna be awesome. \(^o^)/
So cool. Never thought I’d win any book giveaway but I did. Iwon an ARC copy of Beth Revis Shades of Earth. This is the last of the Across the Universe series. Thanks Dana.
Cool. Voltage release a new mobile otome game called A Knight’s Devotion in the US this month. The chara design looks good. The layout of the game is a little different. The premise is good. You get to play a normal girl in the medevil times who just found out she’s a princess. You get to choose a knight as a personal bodyguard. Three of the guys are available to choose from. I’ll probably check it out when I have some free time.

My reading adventure continues when I discovered NetGalley site from some book blog and v-blog I read to get info on cool books to check out. It’s a site where readers, reviewers, and pros can request advance reader copies of books in digital format. I joined it as a blogger and didn’t think I’d get approve for anything since I was a newbie at book blogging. There were some declines but wow all I can say was a lot of the publishers were so nice to approve my request. Thank you so much.
Thanks to NetGalley, I was able to request ARC of really neat books, comics, and graphic novels. Also thanks to the awesome peeps at different publishers for approving my request and let me venture through several awesome reads. I’ll be sure to give them an honest feedback and I’ll post reviews on my book blog and goodreads.
